Mercedes helps clients navigate complex litigation matters in state and federal court, bringing with her a unique mix of legislative policy and nonprofit litigation experience.
Before joining Lehotsky Cohn LLP, Mercedes worked as an Associate at Ryan Law Partners LLP where she advised clients across the country on complex business disputes. Mercedes also previously served as General Counsel for the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC) of the Texas House of Representatives and as a Family Law Staff Attorney at Ascend Justice, a Chicago-based civil legal services provider.
Mercedes earned her B.A. in International Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas and her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. Prior to and throughout law school, Mercedes worked in various capacities within the Texas House of Representatives.
